The reason people bully others is that bullies feel it is the only way for them to fit in.  What many people don’t realize is that you can get even more respect making friends then you can bullying.  The reason bullies choose not to make friends is because when they see someone that is different they don’t try to be friends with them because they don’t know how to make friends, so they bully them because it amuses their peers.  This form f respect that they get from bullying does not last very long, once the bully stops being mean to the person for the shortest amount of time, nobody has any respect for them because they didn’t care about the bully, they only thought what he was doing was funny.

 I really like this quote because it's basically true about why bullies bully. It makes me pity them in a way because of the reasons they'll bully others. Like if there smaller and it's funny, or if they get bullied or treated badly and have to vent out their anger at someone. In the end, the bullies get bullied.

I remember a time when me and my two friends were being bullied by a big group. One of my friends just ignored them, so the group left him alone. When I noticed this, I followed what he did. Unfortunately for my other friend, he wouldn't back down and ignore them, he only snapped back at them. So the group kept insulting him for a while, until finally they left.
I could see the reason they did this though. It was a very hot day, so they were both annoyed and bored, which isn't a very good combination. Making fun of us was probably emptying their annoyance into us, and since my friend kept taking the bait, they weren't so bored anymore. They  left a while later, probably because they saw a teacher coming. I know ho to not get into these situations though. I just keep my eyes down. If I don't do this, I'll probably get bullied more often and will become bullied a lot more often.
